Kathryn Bernardo said she is “happy and still single” amid the rumors that she is dating a politician.
Bernardo seemingly put the rumors to rest at last night’s ABS-CBN ball where she was asked if she is single or taken.

“I’m very happy. And yes, still single,” she told journalist Gretchen Fullido at the red-carpet interview.

Speculations about Bernardo’s relationship status made headlines recently after talent manager and showbiz insider Ogie Diaz claimed, citing an anonymous source, that the actress was dating Lucena City Mayor Mark Alcala.
At the time, netizens on X also alleged that Kathryn’s mom, Min Bernardo, had followed Alcala on Instagram, fueling the dating rumors. However, the celebrity mom unfollowed the Mayor after the screenshots went viral online.
Min has yet to confirm if she had indeed followed Alcala in the first place. On the other hand, as of writing, Alcala is following Kathryn on Instagram, while the actress is yet to follow him back.
Min had earlier set the record straight about her daughter’s relationship status when she told MJ Felipe in an interview that Kathryn has “many suitors but is currently still single.”
